Make sure, however, that you do not make it too lengthy as the thought could get lost. Between five to six sentences would do it. On the other hand, if you have a number of objectives involving different types of jobs, the best thing that you can do is create a separate resume for each of the position indicating a specific objective.
Determine beforehand if you should be using a functional resume or a chronological resume. The former is best suited for those seeking jobs that are in the same line as their previous ones. On the other hand, the latter is more suited for those who are intending to make career shifts and are looking for jobs not related to positions that they have held before. In the case of the latter, instead of listing down previous employment based on when they happened, the resume focuses more on the skills that the applicant has.
Before
emailing a resume, be sure that you write down what your previous work were all about. Do not focus too much on what your responsibilities are. Instead, indicate exactly what projects you have handled and what accomplishments you have had while you were with a certain company. If there are gaps in your resume, indicate briefly what you were during that time. If, on the other hand, you have several short stints, try grouping them together or drop a few especially if they are not that important.
It is also a good idea to check on the completeness as well as the correctness of information before
emailing a resume. Grammatical errors and poor sentence constructions can speak volumes about what kind of worker you are.
Lastly, when
emailing resume, make sure that you have a neatly prepared cover letter. Although most people attach this cover letter along with their resume, the better way to do this would be to use the email body itself for your cover letter.
